Staging editorial review.
Start with a process your team understands and can describe from beginning to end. The first step is understanding the work, rather than purchasing another tool.
Follow One Real Task
Describe what starts the task, who handles it, which information is needed and how someone knows it is complete. Include the people doing the work in this discussion.
Look For Repeated Effort
Identify repeated data entry, manual reminders, waiting for approval and searching for the latest information. Describe an example rather than simply saying the process is slow.
Include Exceptions
What happens when information is missing, approval is refused or the usual person is away? A process description should include these situations before automation is considered.
Define A Useful Outcome
Choose a practical way to review the change, such as fewer repeated entries or clearer ownership. Record the current process so the comparison has a starting point; do not assume a saving before measuring it.
Keep The First Scope Manageable
Microsoft’s Power Automate planning guidance begins with the business problem, the existing process and the requirements. Bring one workflow to the conversation and discuss the scope before selecting a technical approach.
